What Sexual Madness is This?

I keep getting hits on a post I wrote which discusses how Bratz dolls might be sending inappropriate and even dangerous messages to little girls. I basically suggest  these dolls could possibly have a negative influence on a young girl's developing self-concept. The search words associated with these page views or hits are things like: “bratz porn doll”, “naked bratz”, “bratz sex”, “bratz nude” and “bratz g string”.

Pure fucking irony.

I am not all that surprised, however, as it does back up the point I was trying to make.  

There seems to be a degree of overly active libidos skulking around the internet in search of salacious imagery in an endless quest for more and more sexual depravity. It’s like a heroin addiction. Once these guys are hooked they can’t get enough.

Some will ultimately resort to criminal, sadistic acts in an attempt to reach a fantastical orgasmic nirvana by recreating what they view on a monitor. The problem is that in “real life” the porn stars these pigs enlist in their reenacted fantasies are actually unwilling, terrified victims.

I’m not necessarily suggesting hardcore pornography is causing crimes such as those described below, but I am suggesting that the easy, anonymous accessibility of this type of porn is fueling the voracity and propensity of sex-related crimes. It’s your basic, run-of-the mill brainwashing technique.

The longer you’re exposed to a particular stimulus that elicits a physical response, whether pain, pleasure, power or degradation, the greater the probability of believing whatever the message attached to that stimulus is.

Repeatedly returning to images of what really amounts to “consensual rape” also desensitizes the porn addict to sexual violence. The actress is portrayed as “enjoying” whatever is happening to her, even if she is screaming in pain while it’s happening.

If she enjoys it, she must want it and by extension so must any available female. This makes it easy for the would-be perpetrator to delude himself into believing it is okay for him to force himself on whatever female he has access to, or fancies.

This is why I was absolutely sickened and outraged when I first heard about a Japanese video game entitled, “Rapelay”. The objective of the game is to stalk, rape and sexually molest women and their daughters (i.e. children), as well as invite other “gamers” to partake in gang rapes. If the rape victim becomes pregnant the rapist’s main goal is to force her to have an abortion. If he isn’t successful, he dies; if he is, she does.

The horror of this is beyond words. But is it really all that surprising then that a group of teen boys would think it “cool” to video tape themselves gang raping a 14-year-old girl and then bragging about it on Facebook?

There was another local news story recently out of a small, resort town in the interior of British Columbia, in which a sadistic piece of human waste confined and tortured a young mother while her toddler watched. The brutal sexual assault went on for hours and hours until 3 o’clock in the morning when her family came looking for her. She and her son had been missing for nearly 24 hours, the last anyone knew she was heading back to the second hand store where she had purchased a mattress for her kid earlier in the day.

The girl’s brother found her car still parked behind the store’s loading dock. He broke down the door and rescued his nephew and sister, who needed emergency surgery for her severe injuries. The rapist escaped, but they found him a few days later. There should be a death penalty for predators like this monster.

I say, lock up your girls – they aren’t safe. But don’t get too excited, it’s just a figure of speech, although in some countries, like Afghanistan, they literally do lock up their girls.

If a girl is raped or accidentally shows a hangnail to a passing male she can get 3 to 15 years of hard time for adultery.

Meanwhile, in those same countries it is religiously and socially acceptable to marry off little girls to men old enough to be their grandfathers, keep children and women as slaves; sell people like they’re material goods, and refuse to help other human beings who are suffering simply because they were born to the wrong people or caste. It’s medieval madness.

It’s hard to fathom on this side of the world that a female could be imprisoned for showing anything more than an eyeball, that a little girl who should be in grade 2 could be betrothed to a 45-year-old man who already has three other wives, or that a 6-year-old boy could be used as slave labor in a sweatshop.  

On the other hand, here we dress little girls up like strippers and put them on display in beauty pageants, or expose them to female role models whose best attributes are touted as being their double D breast implants. We have young women putting themselves through university by becoming escorts, and men like Hugh Hefner and Donald Trump are envied as living the ideal life for any man.

It’s a disgusting situation, and I’m not sure “women’s liberation” has achieved as much as we think it has; perhaps all it has really done is take women down a winding path that leads to the same treacherous - or lecherous - road.
